Harvesting Overview

How to start: Walk to the Lumbridge potato field (or any farm potato plant) and use Pick. That now trains Harvesting (level 1, 18 XP). Dedicated spots named Potato Plant use the Harvest option instead — a gardener sells a hand shovel that helps there. Ordinary field potatoes are the intended first step; you do not need a shovel to pick them.

Higher produce comes from Harvest plants, fruit trees, and bushes around the world. Watering and soil can improve yields on Harvest spots. This skill is New ClassicKBD only.

Training Methods

1. Field Pick, then Allotment Patches

Start by using Pick on Lumbridge or farm potatoes — no shovel needed. Dedicated allotment plants named Potato Plant (and higher produce) use Harvest and a Hand Shovel helps there. Watering and soil can improve Harvest yields.

2. Fruit Trees

Fruit trees require a Fruit Picker tool and provide various fruits. They typically have longer respawn times but give good experience.

3. Bushes

Bushes provide berries and require a Hand Shovel. They are good for lower-level training and provide useful berries.

4. Special Patches

Special patches provide unique items like sugar cane and grapes. They require specific tools and provide good experience.

Care Mechanics

While harvesting, the game may ask you to care for your plants:

Watering: 1/7 chance to require watering (improves yields)
Soil: 1/5 chance to require soil (improves yields)
Care effects last for 3 minutes per location
Proper care increases your chance of getting additional produce
